The Parable of The Blue Door

There I stood, after months of searching; I was facing the Blue Door. It was beautiful in an enchanting kind of way. Where would it take me? What opportunities and adventures were beyond? How would it change my life?

I looked back behind me to see if they had caught up yet. I could hear them nearing. No! They cannot have me. I will be free! What was I waiting for? I couldn’t move. It was like something was holding me still, forbidding me to take a step in to the new world I had dreamed about.

I looked around me; there stood statues of men, woman, and children.  All of them had the same look on their faces, the same look that was on my face right now. They too were reaching for the door.

Everything in my life up to this point has been meaningless. I remember hearing stories about the Blue Door and how on the other side there was something so wonderful, it must be a dream. I was told that not many make it past the door.
The master’s beasts were getting closer.

My heart was racing. I didn't want to end up like them. I was able to take a step forward and another. I was going to make it! I was going to walk through that Blue Door. As I drew closer the door began to open a bit. I felt like the door was inviting me in, encouraging me to step through into my new destiny.

They were so close now, too close. The hair on my neck rose. I was able to take another step.   The beasts were just a few yards away. They dismounted their dark horses.  Some laughed and others glared at me. I had come so far. I looked up at the Blue Door.

“Ha! You thought you could run away? What a joke! You will always be our captive!” The beasts laughed again.

The stone statues began to wail and cry out things I couldn’t understand. The beasts laughed even harder. Fear started to fill my heart.

The beasts moved closer while cursing and laughing at me. I couldn’t move.

I looked back at the door. If I was going to die, I was going to die looking at something beautiful. My life had never been beautiful. Darkness and fear was all I knew.

I screamed for help and a light burst from the door.  A small, red bird came and perched itself above the door. I felt hope and strength in my heart. At first the beasts took a step back. They were afraid. I was able to take another step. But my victory didn’t last long. One of the beast grabbed hold of arm, its claws sunk in.

I fought with all I had. I was going to live and be free. The beast seemed to be losing its strength as I came within inches of the door. I reached out and grabbed the door. The beasts and statues shrieked.

I was standing in the door way.

Looking back I saw the beast shrinking back. I screamed that I was never going to be their slave again. I walked through and shut it behind me.

I could feel a wonderful heat on my back. I turned and soaked in the wonderful sight. It was full of color and life. I saw a light shining through the trees and somehow knew it was meant for me. I walked toward the light. My life was about to change forever.

Freedom in Christ is a choice. DO you want to be free? Walk through the door and into Jesus’ marvelous light. It’s not too late. Take that step. It will make the enemy furious. They will try and stop you. The great part is that Jesus has already won. His blood paid for everything. So freedom in any area in your life can be yours. It’s as easy as walking through a door. Just ask Jesus for help. And you will be able to walk in a whole new world. Are you ready? You have the opportunity to change your life forever.

Take that step…Walk through the door into marvelous light

Crazy Adventure

I used to think I couldn't have a favorite song. I would say "I could no sooner choose my favorite star in the heavens!". Haha a little dramatic right? Well right now I have a favorite song! It's called "Chasing You" , it's on the album "Tides" from Bethel Music. If you have never heard of their music, stop everything and go take a listen!

The reason I love this song so much is because of it's wonderful message of love, adventure that's in God. It's total love song and well I love it. The last part of the song says:

"This life- this love- was always meant to be- a crazy adventure discovering- the thrill- the rush- the more of you I see- the more it leaves me wanting Your everything...I'm chasing you."

I burst in to this part of the song after I prayed for my sick neighbor, I laughed and felt the joy of the the Lord wash over me. And the thought came " If I'm not having fun, a adventure, with God, this Christian thing would really drag!". Life with Christ is meant to be awesome! When was the last time you felt a rush or thrill doing something with God? If you can't think of one, it's time for a change. Doing things with God is like a drug... it makes you feel high! haha God is so much fun. If you feel like life isn't fun ask God to show you His fun side. I think you will find God has a great sense of humor!

My prayer for you is that you would have such a fun life with God. That you would just be so crazy in love with God everyone knows. Have fun with God, dream with Him! Haha laugh with Him (Ps 2:4)!

Check out this song Chasing You .Use it as a picture of what your walk with God can be. Let the passion motivate your heart to chase after God like never before. He is chasing you. He loves you so much!

The Time Has Come

Are you happy with how things are around you in your home, relationships, culture and nation? Are you left with the feeling of "I guess I need to pray more…"? Praying is awesome but prayer without actions won’t go anywhere fast.

So…It’s time…

It's time that we took ground, instead of sitting back and just "praying" we need to get up and act. As "Christians" we proclaim to be like Christ. But when did Jesus ever *sigh*, say "oh lets pray for them" and then not act on what He just prayed? I think we expect God to do everything! I mean He can, HE is GOD! But He chooses to work through His people.

I'm talking about day after day of seeing the world drowned and we are the life raft and we aren’t doing anything to help. We stand on the deck praying asking God to do something!

We have God given power and authority, why aren't we using it?

I'm only one person you may say. Great! Take a look at history and see all the people who changed the world. There is story after story of just one person deciding to get up and act and it changed everything.

Now getting up and putting your prayers into action will draw people that just want to shut you up. They don't care if you pray, but once you pray then act they get scared and threatened. Don't stand down! If you feel Gods hand on it and you believe it with all your heart then go for it with all that is in you.
The world needs us to be world changers and history makers...Good ones! For instance…We don't need more homosexuals stepping up and acting on what they believe. God bless them, I love them, but they have chosen to stand for something my God hates. They are a small group, but you wouldn't know it because how big their voice has gotten. They just choose to act.

Plain and simple, praying more isn't going to bring our nations back on track. It’s going to take some crazy people who actually believe what God says and then do it!

Will it be you? Why not you? Ask God how you can be a voice, a light, a world changer, a history maker. He will let you know! Don't be afraid. God is inside of you. Wanting to move in the earth through you.

Comment below and share how you will change the world around you?  How will you stand up for righteousness? Do you need prayer? Prayer is powerful let me join together with you and see your God giving purpose come forth on the earth!

Top 5 Things To Get You Through 2014

The New Year is all over the world now. Everyone is talking about all they want to change, accomplish and be by 2015. I have my own list of things, so I'm in the same boat!

So here are a few things to think about in this new year!

  1. Know who you are has a child of the King and walk it out! This will care of lot for you! Do everything as if you believe who you are.
  2. See God in EVERYTHING. Everywhere you go see God. Make a point of it. You will have way better days!
  3. Remember that Jesus already won! He overcame for you so you can punch the devil right in the eye. You have unspeakable power in Jesus!
  4. When you "feel" unloved, know it's a lie. You are, at all hours, even when your sleeping are completely loved by God. Period. No mater what happened today. You are 100% loved all hours of the day.
  5. Love all people at all costs! This one can be hard for sure, but this was part of Jesus command to us. "Love your neighbour as you love your self. " Love you are love people!

I wish you a very Happy New Year in 2014! May this year totally rock for you! That you accomplish the impossible! So remember this: You can't move forward unless you get up and move...forward. I know deep right? Haha it's so simple but so many people miss it! #idareyoutomoveforward

Janell's Official Wal-Mart Countdown to Christmas Finale 2013

This Christmas something really awesome happened. The Wal-Mart Christmas Countdown was born! It was so much fun! Now that the countdown is complete for this year I thought I would include some interesting facts about My Wal-Mart Christmas Countdown! So here we go!

Days until Christmas: 46
It all started with this photo! 46 day before Christmas! My family was at Wal-Mart (I know! no surprise there!) and my mom saw the countdown sign and said "Janell! Go take a picture with the sign!". I did obviously and that is how it was born! I was hooked.

Days until Christmas: 39
I almost didn't see this little sign , because it was so small! But I was on the lookout! All the signs were in different places, colors and sizes!

Days until Christmas: 35
By the third picture people started to comment on how i go to Wal-mart a lot. And already people are saying that they will miss me doing the countdown..by the third picture!

Days until Christmas
I didn't always have someone with me on my Wal-Mart trips. So I would have to take them myself. Sometimes it took me up to four tries to get it right...or I would finally give up...people were staring like crazy!

Days until Christmas: 25
My countdown to Christmas went viral!! Not really but I stared seeing a lot of other people joining in on the fun! Here is one of them! Thanks Holly!

Days until Christmas
Sometimes my trips to Wal-Mart are very exciting, but this day God totally set me up to minister to a lady there! Always take time to see what God is doing at Wal-Mat!

Day until Christmas: 20
By this time I really don't care what people think. It was kind of a freeing feeling! When people would stare (remember I was the only one by the signs most of the time!) I would just look at them and say "It's almost Christmas!" or "I just love Christmas!". People would just continue to stare! haha

Days until Christmas
I have now been given the title "Princess of Christmas"! Ah! I loved it! I also was told that Wal-Mart should pay me stock for advertising! I um love the idea!

Days until Christmas: 11
During the Countdown I visited 3 different Walmarts in OK. But never had anyone get my enthusiasm or share in my Christmas cheer!

Days until Christmas: 9
This was the only Wal-Mart that hung the sign up high! I had to get creative! I also didn't have my phone, so I had a friend take it with her phone! I am now called nuts too! haha yeah!

Days until Christmas: 5

I took this one twice...The first one I took I looked so tired and  not excited that I had to go back and take it again (you think I would have learned to look at my pictures!) I really loved it when I had someone to take the picture!

Days until Christmas: 2
Not only was I photo boomed by the lady on the display behind me I also had a guy ask if he could call me sometime! Haha whats funny about that one of my friends said "...As long as you aren't going to Wal-Mart to pick up guys...". Haha well...

Days until Christmas: 1
This day the Wal-Mart I was at had two different countdown numbers, even other stores had a different number on the dame day! This happened a lot actually!

Days until Christmas:

And today is the day! Merry Christmas! No I didn't go to Wal-Mart today, this is the same sign from Day 1! I just moved the 1 over ...it's behind my head!

And that is it ladies and gentlemen! Janell's Official Wal-Mart Countdown to Christmas 2013 is over! I had a blast doing it! I had no idea what it would turn into! Spacial thanks to my photographers Mom, Dad, Faith , Janae and Justin. And to all of you who followed my countdown! You all made it even more fun!

Merry Christmas!!!

Days until Christmas: 364

All I Want For Christmas

I love how Jesus speaks to us. I heard a friend say that God can speak to us through anything, except for the things we don't let him. So I try my best to have a listening ear, to hear what he is saying in any moment. The other day I was listening to the song "All I Want For Christmas" by Anthem Lights, this song is one of my favorites, their harmonies are awesome (I highly recommend them!). Anywho I was listening to it and it was like all of a sudden God was singing the song to me (God likes to sing to me). I let the words wash over me as I listened to the song as if He was the one singing, and it warmed my heart. Take a listen real quick and let God sing to you through this song:

All Jesus wants for Christmas is you. He doesn't care about anything else. He doesn't care about all the "works" you do or the acts of Christianity. It's simple, He just wants you. That is the whole reason He came to earth as a baby. So that one day you would give Him all of you. Take time to sit with Him, give Him a gift this Christmas…You.

Have you ever given yourself to Jesus? Make this Christmas the best ever and belong to Him. Comment below and I will introduce you to Him.

Or maybe you have taken back your gift to Him. It's never too late to give yourself back to Him.
